We raise Angus cattle — and we are serious about which Angus cattle we raise.

Just because an animal is black or a cut shows marbling does not mean it is tender. Tenderness comes from genetics and bloodline. That is where every decision at Brasstown Beef starts. 

Steve Whitmire studied agriculture at NC State and later served as president of the Beef Improvement Federation, an international organization that establishes standards for raising cattle and producing the best beef. 

He built this program around the genetics and breeding decisions that produce consistent tenderness, marbling, and eating quality — not just once, but animal after animal.
